2009 Nissan Rogue

The 2009 Nissan Rogue Has Plenty of Cargo Space, High Quality Interior Materials and Great Fuel Economy

In 2009 Nissan has delivered a compact SUV with flair in the form of the Rogue. All trims come standard with a 170 horsepower 2.5-liter DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine and 5-passenger seating capabilities. Reviewers were impressed by the Rogue's storage solutions and cargo capacity--which is 28.9 cubic feet with both rows of seats in use. U.S. News Rankings and Reviews comments, "The Rogue's cargo versatility and economical sticker price are popular with reviewers. What's more, the Rogue even boasts good fuel economy. Its 22/27 mpg rating places it near the top of the compact SUV class -- an important cost consideration."

The 2009 Rogue never met a road it didn't like. It has the capability to get you where you need to go smoothly and efficiently. "Secure on-center steering feel, a firm but compliant ride, and a quiet cabin combine to effortlessly count down highway miles," says Car and Driver. The Rogue comes standard with Vehicle Dynamic Control that incorporates a Traction Control System and 2- or 4-wheel Active Brake Limited Slip (ABLS). It also comes with drivetrain features that include Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) with Adaptive Ratio Control, a Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System (CVTCS), a Nissan Direct Ignition System, double platinum-tipped spark plugs, an electronic drive-by-wire system, electronic sequential multi-point fuel injection, a Nissan Vehicle Immobilizer System, aluminum-alloy cylinder block and cylinder head, and timing-chain-driven camshafts.

The suspension, brake, and steering standard features also add to the Rogue's sharp performance; ""....the Rogue is probably the best all-around performer in the four-cylinder class," says Cars.com. You'll benefit from the responsive steering and brakes with features like electric vehicle-speed-sensitive power-assisted steering, power-assisted 4-wheel disc brakes, vented front and rear disc brakes, and an Anti-lock Braking System with Brake Assist (BA), and Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD). Your ride will also be jolt-free with suspension features that include independent strut front suspension, independent multi-link rear suspension, and front and rear stabilizer bars.

The exterior and chassis standard features on the 2009 Rogue make it one hot little number. It comes with jewel-type halogen headlights, power folding outside mirrors, a body-color and chrome grille, a space-saver spare tire, high-strength steel body components, body undercoating, a rear window wiper/washer, body-color bumpers, and body-color door handles.

The 2009 Rogue has an interior that's ergonomically sound, comfortable, and incorporates plenty of standard features to up the convenience. "Reviews generally find the five-seat interior of the 2009 Nissan Rogue to be comfortable, functional and upscale. The cabin features high-quality materials for the price," reports U.S. News Rankings and Reviews. The seating standard features include rear seats with a 60/40 split folding seatback and a 4-way manual passenger's seat. The interior has nice touches that include an LCD odometer with dual trip meters, in-cabin microfilter HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), an adjustable tilt steering column, a rear window defroster with timer, a front-seat center console for extra storage, a front overhead console with dual map lights; and a sunglasses holder, 12-volt power outlets, power windows with auto-down for the driver's window, auto door locks, cruise control with illuminated steering-wheel-mounted controls, 2-speed windshield wipers with variable intermittent and mist functions, sun visors, remote keyless entry, and a Vehicle Security System.

The Nissan Rogue did very well in federal government safety crash tests. It earned five stars for both front and rear occupants in side crash tests, five stars for the driver in frontal crash tests, and four stars for the passenger in frontal crash tests. It's not very surprising considering all of the safety equipment that comes standard like three sets of air bags including driver and front-passenger air bags with dual-stage inflation, driver and front-passenger side-impact air bags, and roof-mounted curtain front- and rear-seat side-impact air bags (includes rollover sensor). You'll also feel secure knowing that the new Rogue incorporates 3-point ALR/ELR front- and rear-passenger seat belts, a 3-point ELR driver's seat belt, front seat belts with pre-tensioners and load limiters, child restraint seat tether anchors, LATCH System (Lower Anchors and Tether for Children), an energy-absorbing steering column, child safety rear door locks, front- and rear-seat adjustable head restraints, and front seat active head restraints.
