The 2009 Maxima has been completely revamped for 2009 giving Nissan enthusiasts a strong, sporty option. The new Nissan Maxima includes engine and powertrain features that include a tough, 105,000-mile tune-up-free, 290 horsepower 3.5-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 engine with an aluminum-alloy cylinder block, heads, and oil pan, electronically controlled, liquid-filled front and rear engine mounts, timing-chain-driven camshafts, a Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System, a Nissan Direct Ignition System, Iridium-tipped spark plugs, variable-flow intake manifold, electronic sequential multi-point fuel injection, and a Nissan Vehicle Immobilizer System.
