2009 Nissan Maxima

The 2009 Nissan Maxima Has Received a Face Lift for the Coming Year that Brings Out its Sporty Side

The 2009 Maxima has been completely revamped for 2009 giving Nissan enthusiasts a strong, sporty option. The beautiful exterior is especially eye-catching and was labeled by Nissan's design team, "liquid motion." Power gains have also been made in the engine department. Kelley Blue Book comments, "Nissan further refined its already-brilliant 3.5-liter V6 engine, resulting in a 35-horsepower increase over the previous Maxima." It fits in the luxury sedan class and Edmunds notes that, "In fact, when fully loaded, it undercuts similarly equipped luxury-badged sedans by thousands, while in some cases being dynamically superior." With its athletic build, convenient interior, and powerful engine and powertrain features, the new Nissan Maxima is definitely exciting interest this season.

The new Nissan Maxima includes engine and powertrain features that include a tough, 105,000-mile tune-up-free, 290 horsepower 3.5-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 engine with an aluminum-alloy cylinder block, heads, and oil pan, electronically controlled, liquid-filled front and rear engine mounts, timing-chain-driven camshafts, a Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System, a Nissan Direct Ignition System, Iridium-tipped spark plugs, variable-flow intake manifold, electronic sequential multi-point fuel injection, and a Nissan Vehicle Immobilizer System.

The drivetrain features front-wheel drive for managing bad weather, Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) with Adaptive Ratio Control and Drive Sport mode, a Traction Control System for managing unwieldy terrain, and Vehicle Dynamic Control. The steering and suspenions standard features on the 2009 Maxima should allow you to grapple with any road surface. The upgraded vehicle-speed-sensitive variable-assist power rack-and-pinion steering gives you a more driver-oriented feel, and Edmunds.com notes, "Steering on all Maximas is excellent, exhibiting a nice blend of low-friction weighting and a high level of road feel that should satisfy both comfort-minded and enthusiastic drivers alike." Suspension features include independent multi-link rear suspension, independent strut front suspension, soft-mount front and rear suspension subframes, and front and rear stabilizer bars.

The brakes, wheels, and chassis standard features are also above par and include power-assisted, vented 4-disc brakes with an Anti-lock Braking System, Brake Assist; and Electronic Brake force Distribution, a space saver spare tire, larger 18 x 8.0 Aluminum-alloy wheels, body undercoating, and unibody construction.

The already sleek and aggressive exterior is embellished with Halogen headlights with jewel-type reflectors, folding outside mirrors with power controls, and a power rear-tilt moonroof with a sliding shade and one-touch open/close.

What will make your drive truly enjoyable is the seating standard equipment, which includes front bucket seats with an 8-way power driver's seat, a 4-way power passenger's seat, 60/40 split folding rear seats, a leather-wrapped gearshift knob, brushed-aluminum sill plates with the Maxima logo, and a sport style leather-wrapped steering wheel with cruise control and an adjustable tilt/telescopic steering column. You'll also be able to command your perfect temperature with the in-cabin microfilter HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) that includes dual-zone climate controls with a digital display and Automatic Temperature Control.

Other interior comfort and convenience features that will make your life easier, and thus give you more time for fun include two front and two rear cupholders, automatic on/off headlights, a Vehicle Security System, a HomeLink Universal Transceiver for controlling your home's gates, lights, and garage doors, two 12-volt power outlets, power trunk lid releases, Keyfob-operated power-down front windows with auto-down/up for the driver's and front-passenger's windows, sun visors with illuminated vanity mirrors and extensions, 2-speed windshield wipers with vehicle-speed-sensitive intermittent and mist functions, valet key and lockout, automatic power door locks with selective unlocking, remote keyless entry, and Nissan Intelligent Key with push button ignition.

As a high-end Nissan the Maxima displays all of the safety attire that you'd expect from a luxury vehicle, including three sets of standard air bags that include driver and front-passenger air bags with dual-stage inflation, driver and front-passenger side-impact air bags, and roof-mounted curtain front- and rear-seat side-impact air bags. Other important safety features that will grant you peace of mind include child restraint seat tether anchors, child safety rear door locks, Active Head Restraints, 3-point ALR/ELR front- and rear-passenger seat belts, front seat belts with pre-tensioners and load limiters, high-strength steel body assembly, high-strength side-door guard beams, and an emergency trunk release. Don't wait too long to get behind the wheel of a new Maxima. A value like this doesn't come every year!
