Tip Your Hat to the New Nissan Frontier Crew Cab; It's No Slacker When it Comes to Delivering a Fun Ride and Nimble Handling

Enjoy all of the SE luxuries and commodities plus a 6-speed manual overdrive transmission, shift-on-the-fly 4-wheel drive, a 2-speed transfer case with high and low ranges, 16" x 7.0" steel wheels. The 2009 Nissan Frontier is the complete package with a refined ride, agile handling, good fuel economy, and strong powertrain. "A civilized ride, reasonable size, safety equipment, and a strong V-6 make the Frontier a medium-size pickup with big-time appeal," says Automobile Magazine. Each Frontier Crew Cab comes with a 261 hp 4.0-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 engine and seats 5. The fuel economy is 14 - 16 / 19 - 20 MPG city/highway.

The heavy-duty drivetrain equipment for this tough pickup includes an aluminum-alloy cylinder block and heads, timing-chain-driven camshafts, a Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System (CVTCS), a Nissan Direct Ignition System, double platinum-tipped spark plugs, a variable-flow intake manifold, an electronic drive-by-wire system, electronic sequential multi-point fuel injection, a liquid-cooled engine oil cooler, and a Nissan Vehicle Immobilizer System. "This is an amazingly nimble package for a pickup ... the awesome drivetrain leaves the competition and some larger trucks in the dust," says Four Wheeler.

With its suspension, steering, and brake features the new Frontier Crew Cab won't just get you there in one piece, it will get you there comfortably. You might just have some fun driving it too. You'll benefit from independent double-wishbone front suspension, a solid axle with variable-rate leaf-spring rear suspension, a front stabilizer bar, variable-assist power rack-and-pinion steering, power-assisted 4-wheel vented front and rear disc brakes, and an Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brake force Distribution.

The exterior features on the Frontier Crew Cab make it rugged and stylish. These features include body-on-frame construction, a welded ladder frame with full-length box section frame rails, tuned cab-to-frame mounts, high-strength steel body components, body undercoating, front-hinged rear doors, jewel-type halogen headlights, cargo area lights, privacy glass, a rear window defroster with a timer, a cargo bed with bedside and tailgate top molding; and spray-on bedliner, a tailgate with a removeable lock, and a utility bed with a utili-track bed system with C-channels (5), channel caps (2), and utility cleats (4).

You'll find that time in the Frontier Crew Cab seems to fly by because of the nice seating. "[S]eats right up there with the Tacoma as the most supportive and comfortable chairs in the segment," says Four Wheeler. The seating features include a 4-way manual passenger's seat, and a rear 60/40 split bench seat with fold-down seatbacks and fold-up seat cushions. Audio system features include an AM/FM/CD player with 6 speakers and a fixed-mast antenna. The comfort and convenience features will also enhance your ride and include an adjustable tilt steering column, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning), an Overhead console with dual map lights and a sunglasses holder, 2-speed windshield wipers with variable intermittent and mist functions, sun visors with dual vanity mirrors, and an LCD odometer with dual trip meters.

As far as safety is concerned U.S. News Rankings and Reviews comments, "The 2009 Nissan Frontier does well in federal government crash tests, which auto reviewers such as Newsday say is the result of "about as modern a package of safety features as you'll find in a pickup." These safety features include 3-point ALR/ELR front- and rear-passenger seat belts, a 3-point ELR driver's seat belt, front seat belts with pre-tensioners and load limiters, child restraint seat tether anchors, child safety rear door locks, driver and front-passenger air bags (SRS) with dual-stage inflation, an energy-absorbing steering column, front and rear crumple zones, front and rear seat adjustable head restraints, front seat active head restraints, hood deformation point and safety stops, and LATCH System (Lower Anchors and Tether for CHildren).
