The New FWD MKT Comes with Stylish Painted Aluminum Wheels and a 268 Horsepower Engine

The mechanical equipment for the new MKT FWD Base trim includes a low maintenance 72-amp battery, front-wheel drive, and a Duratec 3.7L 24V V6 engine that produces 268 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque. The mechanical equipment for the new MKT FWD Base trim includes a low maintenance 72-amp battery, front-wheel drive, and a Duratec 3.7L 24V V6 engine that produces 268 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque. The exterior gets a bit of interest with chrome tipped exhaust and 19" premium painted aluminum wheels. The 2010 Lincoln MKT is a 7-passenger crossover SUV with urban fresh styling and new technology that brings it up to speed with more seasoned competitors. The new MKT impresses critics with a very quiet drive, great handling, and a whole list of standard features that include things like a reverse camera system, premium leather seating surfaces, and driver memory settings. The trim styles include two AWD and one FWD version. One of the AWD trims has a 3.5L Twin Turbo EcoBoost engine that delivers 355 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque all while achieving 22 mpg highway. All of the trims come with 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission with paddle activation.

The mechanical standard equipment for the MKT includes a 200 amp alternator, a battery saver, a 4-wheel ventilated disc anti-lock braking system, and rack and pinion steering.

Stylish exterior features include bright beltline and lower bodyside accent strip moldings, scuff plates backlit with Lincoln script, a Lincoln split wing grille, and a rear black spoiler. The body color, power adjustable, heated, outside mirrors come with security approach lamps, signal indicators, memory settings, integrated blind spot mirrors, and driver's side electrochromic auto-dimming coating. Other nice exterior features include a roof mounted fixed mast antenna, fog lamps, privacy glass, a fixed glass roof with a power sunshade, and HID adaptive headlamps with auto high beams and autolamp on/off delay controls. Adaptive headlights move according to the steering angle and direction of the wheels. Additionally, the MKT comes with a rear cargo cover, a cargo net, rear 2-speed wipers, and front speed-sensitive, rain-sensing windshield wipers.

You'll be surrounded by dozens of convenient features that make your trip relaxing and easy in the new MKT, such as a touch screen that allows you to easily control audio and climate functions and view the compass and rear view camera. Other nice touches include tri-zone electronic automatic temperature control, a cabin air filtration system, four 12V power points, one-touch up/down power windows, and a leather wrapped steering wheel with media controls, speed controls, and duplicate audio controls. You'll also enjoy power door locks with autolock, a rear window defroster, a message center in the instrument cluster, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with a microphone, and a power liftgate.

The comfortable and flexible seating features for the new MKT include front bucket 12-way power heated/cooled seats with power lumbar support, driver memory settings, premium leather seating surfaces, a 2nd row 60/40 split bench with heated outboard seating surfaces, and a 3rd row 50/50 split fold-flat bench.

The remote keyless entry system comes with a fob integrated key and a SecuriCode keyless entry keypad. Additionally, the front windows can be operated by the key or keyfob. The new MKT also comes with the MyKey system, which allows parents and fleet managers to limit the top speed of the vehicle, sound warnings at 45, 55, and 65 mph, keep all safety systems active, keep a persistent beltminder, and sound an earlier low fuel warning. You'll also enjoy intelligent access with push button start, a universal garage door opener, and delayed accessory power shut-off.

The amazing audio system will have you and your passengers singing along with its AM/FM in-dash single CD/DVD/MP3 player, 10 speakers, SIRIUS satellite radio with a 6-month prepaid subscription, and 10 GB music Jukebox hard drive. The audio system features also include a USB port and an auxiliary input jack. The Lincoln SYNC voice activated communication and entertainment system offers you 911 assist, vehicle health reports, personalized traffic reports with text message traffic alerts, and precise turn-by-turn driving directions. Moreover, SYNC can deliver news, sports, and weather reports all with a simple voice command, and can be synchronized with any Bluetooth enabled mobile device.

Safety is of course a top priority for the new Lincoln MKT. It includes driver and passenger front airbags, driver and passenger side airbags, and side inflatable restraint air bags for the first, second, and third rows. Other safety features include Advance Trac Roll Stability Control, a driver and passenger beltminder, and child safety rear door locks.
