The 2009 Audi A4 Avant is a luxury wagon that revolutionizes the way we imagine this quaint class of vehicle. The A4 Avant is not longer satisfied with the label of "family wagon." If you buy this wagon, you can use it for regular city driving, but please let it show its high performance index elsewhere on occasion. It comes with a quattro permanent all-wheel drive system which, according to Audi's website, "..directs power between the wheels precisely when and where it’s needed.. providing exceptional performance on any road surface and in all weathers." You'll also benefit from the Dynamimc Shift Program (DSP), which reduces the driver's workload in stop-and-go traffic by automatically selecting the best driving range. The transmission recognizes the vehicle's driving patterns and adjusts its shift approach to the prevailing conditions. Tiptronic automatic transmission allows all gear changes to occur without any interruption of engine power. It also allows downshifting in twisting, mountainous, downhill terrain to increase the braking effect of the engine or for a more sporty driving style.
